This is the second of 4 shows giving a high level overview of how to communicate with different behavioral styles at work. Last month we covered the "D" in DiSC®, today we cover the "I" (influencer) in detail. If you're looking for a quick review of the DiSC Model, you can find it here.
04/09/2006 Update: In addition to the DiSC Summary document, we've also added the How To Use The DiSC To Be More Effective Every Day cheat sheet. You'll really like this one ... be sure to check it out here.

Hi
You do a great work and i like your Podcast.
As I am familiar with the DISC model, I am confused by the way you use 4 colours for your 4 types.
As the DISC model has its root in ancient Greek time, I think it is more appropriate to choose the colours by its proper meaning (some use colour names instead of "D, I, S and C"
So please edit your help sheet "How To Use The DiSC To Be More Effective Every Day" that colours will match.
D is red (Choleriker)
I is yellow (Sanguiniker)
S is green (Phlegmatiker)
C is blue (Melancholiker)

Micha-
Thanks for the feedback! I'm sure you're right, and I have in front of me a DiSC trademarked document that uses the colors we're using. I don't know what's up, and will look into it further.
Thanks for keeping us on our toes.

Oh man, you guys are talking to me! As a manager of an IT department
I'm mostly "C", but have tried to branch out, but I nearly fell off my
chair when I heard about the guy who wants the extension to get data.
Geez, I'm about 2 months late getting data from one of my Sr. guys on
a storage infrastructure project. I threw down the gauntlet this week
and said "We're meeting with the President of the company next week.
Get the report ready with what you've got!"
I need to go back and listen to the other three... and about 10 other previous episodes of your show!
Great stuff, keep up the excellent work.
Chuck- Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks for the kind words! Glad we're helping you be more effective.
You did the most effective thing - give a deadline. If he misses the deadline, it's time for feedback.
It's a privilege to serve you,

Mark, I have just listened to this cast
Mark, I have just listened to this cast - it is hillarious! I loved your over-the-top 'I'. A real treat, well done.

Chris-
It was probably a little too easy for me to do, but still glad I captured the caricature well.

Thanks so much for your wonderful podcasts!
I am an "I" - but in working with other I's and in fundraising and grants work - I've developed some C or S style work traits. Will you ever do a cast on working with your own type? I just got a new boss who is more "I" than I am, and I find myself acting like a C or an S around her. It is kind of funny. I wonder if I am trying to - maybe - balance it out?
Your podcasts have kept me going during such a volatile time in the fundraising world - and even though I work in the nonprofit field - for high level executive process and thought - your work is really the best I have found. Thank you for your radical generosity for getting everyone who hears you consider a better way - and to be just a little bit better at work, day to day.
