Forums

Hello everyone! My name is Joseph, and I started listening to Manager Tools and Career Tools a few weeks ago, and I have devoured dozens of the podcasts since then. This is my first post on the forums, and I'd like to introduce myself a little. I am a Minnesotan in my mid-20s who studied International and Area Studies (China) at Kalamazoo College, a small liberal arts college in Michigan.

I am currently working for a startup call Vericant, located in Beijing. We help boarding schools and universities in North America interview and assess Chinese applicants. I hope to continue to work with Vericant for a few years and to learn many skills concerning how to run a business before moving onto my next step, which is as of yet undecided.

Languages are a passion of mine, and in addition to my native English I also speak Mandarin and Spanish quite well, and I am conversational in Portuguese. I do a little bit of work as a part of the team behind Fluent in 3 Months and I plan to learn more languages in the future.

If anyone has questions about China or about Beijing, I would be happy to try to answer them. Even if I can't answer your questions, perhaps I could refer you to a book or an expert who could.
