Hello Everyone

My name is Trevor Gibbons, and I reside in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
I work for an international energy company. My current role is senior planner.

Within the project controls group (functionally) for the major project division (Project Team), I help plan, and input the proper information into the schedule.

I have my PMP (Project Management Professional) accreditation, and am currently finishing up my CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional). My aspirations for the future lie in obtaining my MBA.

Being a Manager Tools listener for quite sometime now, I have made it a goal to start sharing in the boards, and passing on some of the knowledge I have had the privilege to receive.

Some of the success I have built can be directly attributed to the learning's found here, so I would like to thank both Mark and Mike on the tremendous job they have done. I really appreciate the foresight they showed by building this business, and applaud the model for which it is consumed.

Having much to learn still, I look forward to going on the journey with you other forward thinking, wanting to do things correctly and quickly type people.

Being able to take DISC through my employer I can share with you that I am a high “D” and low “c” which is classified as Creative thinker.

You can find me on Linked in here.

P.S. I have been working on my “seriously engaged face, while staring at a 1990’s computer monitor”. So if you need some more pictures for the site then just let me know. (Although you will need to provide the monitor).

 Welcome to the forums, Trevor.

I've found that participating in the conversations has honed my thinking;  and been a tremendous learning experience.

One of my favorite management quotes is from General Eisenhower:  "Planning is essential; plans are useless."   We must plan well, and once we are engaged, reality overtakes the situation.  Good planners make effective engagement possible.  Hat tip to good planners!

 Greeting Trevor:

As a fellow Albertan, I too have been listening to Manager tools for a few years with great anticipation of each new episode.  I can also state that I am active in the Project Management community (still working on my PMP through the Northern Alberta chapter), and have upgraded my business training.

HHhmm. . .  seem that this site attracts a common crowd.

I have found all of the DISC information to be very valuable.  It's good to recognize myself as a high I - but more importantly  I now know how to deal with those High C's and D's that drive me crazy! (sorry)

I carry this new information with me as I interact with others.  Just having the understanding seems to de-stress a lot of the conflict  between different behavior styles that I have seen in the past.  I listen often, and I listen repeatedly.  The nice thing about all this information is that it is globally accurate regardless of the country we work in.  All good stuff.

Good to hear from you.
