“Simply the best, most exciting and informative conference ever.
The personal feel to and for individuals set it apart.”
- Stephen Hay, January 2008 Attendee
More about our agenda:
Day 1: Where else would we start but with the Management Trinity?
One on Ones - The basics, and taking them to the next level.
Feedback - An overview, your questions, and — practice, practice, practice!
Coaching - Mark’s New Effective Coaching Model! Four Steps, easier to understand, easier to use, faster.
Day 1 Evening: We’re hosting you for dinner and cocktails. We’ll talk about management and leadership, and get to know each other better. You’ll leave this conference with 100 managers added to your personal network, ready to call in an instant.
Day 2: We’ll start by practicing the new Effective Coaching Model - you’ll love it. Also:
Priority Management: What an Effective Manager does every day and every week.
NEW! Effective Performance Management: How an Effective Manger connects day to day to annual goals. Like everything else we do, it’s simple and powerful.
Both Days:
Practice: You will practice feedback and coaching and other skills repeatedly. Individual Attention: When you practice, one of our coaching staff will be watching and providing feedback.
Open Q&A: At our meals, and at the end of both days, we’ll throw it open to questions. Come ready to have your questions answered . . . all of them!
We promise, when you’re done — you’ll be spent! And somehow, still energized to go back to work even more excited about managing and leading — and living.
“This was the best management course I have ever taken!”
- Alberto Magano, January 2008 Attendee

Was the Effective Manager Week removed to allow more time for practicing feedback and coaching?
April 24th, 2008 at 1:36 pm
Mike, Mark and fellow MT listeners.
I’m excited to be attending your SF conference/workshop! It will be great to meet you and get to know other MT loyalists in the area.
I live in Burlingame which is walking distance to the hotel so if you have any free time while you are out here, I would love to show you around. Since you are both pretty active guys, (or any other attendees) maybe a trail run in the redwoods would be in order?!
Thanks for the awesome work you do and see you in July,
David Sanderson

Jon-
No, it was removed because we delivered it as a podcast to everyone, and it didn’t lend itself to practice as well as other topics.

Any plans to host a conference later in the year?
June 10th, 2008 at 6:25 pm
Rhalo-
It’s possible but we can’t guarantee it. Right now, we have an Effective Communications conference scheduled in San Antonio in September, but it’s not the EMC like all our previous ones.
We are working on Sydney, and there is a chance for Atlanta later, but seriously - we can’t make promises yet. We’re struggling to meet demand and won’t sacrifice quality.
And, we’ll keep you posted.

Have you ever considered providing a nonprofit discount? We could certainly use the skills but often don’t have extensive funding sources.
Thanks for your great podcasts!
