Hi Everybody
I’ve been reading this excellent book by Neil Jurd and I wanted to get your views on it.
My main take home is that it's little on the outside and big on the inside! It's essentially a complete compendium of leadership. Everything you want to know about leadership is rhere. It gives you the basics of everything.
I think this should be considered essential reading for every first time line-manager as well as every battle-worn executive. Everything I know about leadership is mentioned in the book and more. I also think that the exercises are spot on in ask and effort, too - I can realistically see a manager having a go at these exercises and coming out with some learning from them.
It feels like it should be printed as a big heavy hardback that would break my toe if I dropped it on it - it covers everything you could think of about leadership, and it gives you just enough information that if you want to go and investigate a particular element, like trust or team building or coaching etc, you could.
An excellent little book that will make your leadership toolbox a lot, lot bigger!!
