BLUF:  This book is about making effective, informed decisions that pull from the collective experience of your team.

The techniques described are geared toward reducing or eliminating the 'yes man' scenario that can exist in organizations with strong leaders.  Apt analogies of the space shuttle Challenger disaster and the Bay of Pigs are used to see how NASA and the Kennedy administration went about making wrong decisions and, in the Kennedy case, how they changed their methods toward more favorable results (e.g. Cuban Missile crisis)

A good read with some great failure and success stories if nothing else.  Also actionable advice for those who are looking to improve their decision making processes.
