Hi Folks,
We have our annual sales conference coming up and I was thinking about having a few books (along with other goodies) delivered to the rooms of my team members during the week we are away.
The three subject matter areas and what I am guessing you recommend are below. I want to get some feedback as I have not read these books myself.
Time Management -- "Getting Things Done"
Excellent Cleint Service -- I did not see a book on the rec list for this topic. We have several different clients in our business line (financial service - retirement plans): plan sponsors, their advisers and plan participants. I believe our human capital is an advantage we have over competitors that we need to bring to the next level.
Infuential Presentations -- "Influence"? Does this book translate well to group presentations? I am not looking for a "how to construct a PowerPoint" type of book. The focus is on helping presenters get their audience to take action.
Any input is much appreciated! Thanks,
Chip

Instead, how about a small MP3 device with some poignant Manager-Tools podcasts already installed?
Got E-mail?
Jumpstarting Internal Customer Relationships
Presenting with PowerPoint
I would think you could get some MP3 players (512MB) for under $40 and all it would take would be your time to set people on the road of improved effectiveness.

What a super idea. Books or an MP3? I know which I'd prefer.

You might want to take a look at Cliff Atkinson's Beyond Bullet Points.

My favorite on this subject is Raving Fans by Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles. It's a quick read and I really got some good ideas while I read it.
Personally, I would rather have the books than the mp3 player. I like to make notes in the margins and fold over the corners of pages.
Good luck!

The best book on customer service in the world is Customers For Life by Carl Sewell.
Change your life good. BRILLIANT.
I drove to Dallas just to get him to sign mine.
I can't believe it's not on the list... going to change that.
