Hi folks.
I’m a chemist in a production facility for a multinational pharma company in the UK. While my managerial experience is virtually nil, apart from filling in for my boss on a few occasions, I’m starting to look at managing projects as a way to get my foot in the door for managerial positions.
I stumbled upon this while browsing iTunes for stuff to keep me occupied on an off site training course and I’ve been finding a lot of the tips that I’ve downloaded to be fantastic. Although it’s a year out of date I’ve recently listened to the 2006 management challenge and I related really well to Mike’s big audacious goal and have a pertinent example that I’d like to implement and drive forward.
Podcasts like the handshake one, the meal one have been real eye-openers for me as well and it Mark’s “handshake” feels far more assertive when it comes to dealing with salespeople and managers!
As for me, I’m in my early 30s and live on the east coast of Scotland which is a great place to live. I have a degree in chemistry and business studies and feel that it’s about time I started making use of both parts of my degree.
Keep up the good work guys, I’ve already recommended you to some of my friends!

Hi Steve,
As aspiring says, good to get another Scot! Enjoy the site and podcasts; Mark and Mike's MT will be one of the most valuable learning tools you will learn.
...and as a sales guy, I love a good assertive handshake! At least I hate being slow and having my fingers grasped!!
Cheers
John
