On the Today Show this morning, they had a spot about not praising kids too much. Their point was really that you should be aware of what you're praising, not how often you praise. Big surprise, they suggested praising the effort/behavior, not the outcome. :)

And, WSJ did an article recently about college grads being part of the generation that was spoiled as kids, and needing constant praise, having been raised that way.

Not that we care...because we're managers, and managers are NOT cool.

Just effective.
