I think it would help greatly to be able to see a list of MT podcasts organised not by date, but rather, by topic. eg. I have a presentation coming up; so I want to revisit all the presentation podcasts over the next week or two.

I am sure other members will have a much smarter approach to this, but so far, what I've done is dump all the cast titles into a .xls, and then sort them out into topics. It seems to be that, loosely, they fall into:

Professional Skills (eg. leave a voicemail, politely become part of group etc.)
Technical Skills (eg. presenting with powerpoint, managing email, etc.)
Managing Others (eg. feedback model, performance reviews, etc.)
Interviewing (eg. quick and dirty interviews, how to answer the management style question, etc.)
Career (eg. how to resign, your resume stinks, contacting recruiters, etc.)
Meetings (eg. running staff meetings, meetings - the greeting, etc.)
General / About MT (eg. the cast about us, conference etc.)

An example of how this falls out is:

Meetings
Effective Meetings - There's More!
Effective Meetings - Part Two
Effective Meetings - Get Out of Jail!
December 2005 Member-Only Podcast -- The Meeting Introduction
How to Videoconference
Running Large Meetings - The Greeting
How to Run Your Staff Meeting (Part 1 of 2)
How to Run Your Staff Meeting (Part 2 of 2)
Effective Teleconferencing - Part 2 of 2
Effective Teleconferencing - Part 1 of 2
How to Handle Agendas in a Meeting (Part 2 of 2)
How to Handle Agendas in a Meeting (Part 1 of 2)

The other thing which I'm finding this helpful for is figuring out which casts I have and haven't listened to yet. I tend to listen to them a little randomly on my iPod, and would prefer to get a little more scientific about it before the volume of casts leaves me too far behind!

Anyway, if anyone is interested in this (eg. better ways to approach, want a copy of the .xls when it's done), sing out.

Thanks Chris, I find this organisation scheme quite useful!

John, the link you posted isn't working, unfortunately.

EDIT: The link isn't working from John's post, but it does work if you go to Resources, Categories. The URL is the same, so I'm not sure why John's link doesn't work?

John had a typo in the link ... I corrected it. I think that gets you close to what you're looking for.

Thought it a bit odd this wouldn't have been done. Turns out I don't surf the site hard enough. :)
