I have interviewed with the Sales Director and the VP of Sales with great success at a company. The role is for a Channel Manager position. I have been asked to interview (separately) with:

- The VP of Marketing
- The CIO (co-founder)
- The CEO (co-founder)

Company has been around since 1999. I am trying to determine the best way to approach these 3 interviews given that they are all three of different focuses within their org.

Marketing will be concerned with how I manage the sales channel based on the programs that they roll out. My gut tells me that discussing my history of interdepartmental successes will assist me with this person.

The CIO must understand that I get where their technolgy is, but more importantly, where it is going. I plan on focusing on my strengths in solutions selling based on technology as well as my ability to relate to IT departments at larger organizations (along with examples).

The CEO will most likely be focused on the big picture. My role at this company will be the most visible in the channel given the geographic location and focus of my territory relative to their company's product alignment. I want to ensure that he knows how I have gone about building relationships (that directly impact this role) as well as how I plan to build new ones.

The interviews start tomorrow afternoon (after another one with another company).

Any other advice?

It sounds like you have a pretty good understanding of where each interviewer is coming from. That will help you greatly. You can tailor your answers (significant accomplishments, leadership style, weakness) to highlight the knowledge, skills, abilities, and characteristics that each interviewer will be looking for.

Best of luck. Keep us posted.

Cheers,
BJ
