Hi, everyone. Since I just made my first post over in the "how long did it take you to catch up" thread, I thought it was time to introduce myself.

I'm a software developer in the Chicago area, with a prior career as a theatrical stage manager and stagehand, and side interests as a musician, playing early music on a variety of instruments.

My job title is "development team leader", which in our shop means theoretically half time management activity, and half time individual contributor. I've got 4 direct reports, and I'm responsible for developing them, as well as getting a high quality product out the door on time.

I found M-T in March, 2008, and finished catching up to all the podcasts in August. I started O3s in May, Feedback in June, and Coaching in July. And now I need to restart Feedback, as I'm finding it a hard habit to make, I'm glad to see a current thread on just that topic.

And the DISC model is awesome. Other managers here have taken DISC profiles before, but apparently the course they took wasn't as good about application of the model as M & M. They're all impressed at the results I'm getting by crafting email with the profile of the main addressee in mind.

Nice to meet you all. Anyone in Chicago area interested in meet-up?

Dennis,

Welcome to the forums - this is another rich resource in the MT community!

Chicago's a great city, and unfortunately far from those of us on the east coast.

Welcome aboard. When the Milwaukee meetup swings down to the south side of the metro area perhaps you would be interested in coming north a bit? So much depends on traffic and which suburb people reside.

I'm watching the Milwaukee meetup thread. I live at the north end of Chicago, so depending on the night of the week etc., its possible I could get there.
