Hi everyone,
My name is Avais and I'm a 24yr old graduate from London. I graduated last summer with a 2:1 in Economics and Politics and now I'm looking to get my career going. I'm still finding my feet regarding what it is that I want to do, but early indications point me to the world of project management. Right now I'm self-studying for the PRINCE2 qualification and want to get that under my belt before the new graduate recruitment round in September.
I'm also a manager for a non-profit organisation working on political empowerment of the Muslim community here in Britain and Manager-Tools has been a brilliant resource for me in that work - how to manage people; the importance of relationships; effective communication, etc.
My DISC profile says I'm a high D, high I, and medium S (figure that one out).
I look forward to being around the forums a bit more and benefiting from the experience of such established people. I hope this beginner can learn from you all.
Regards,
Avais.

Welcom Avais, there are frequent London meet-ups, which I have failed to attend so far but hear good things.

Hi Chris,
Thank you for the info. I would love to come to one of the meet ups. Lord knows what I would talk about though!
Hi Avais
High D, High I? I'm sure you won't find any difficulty in finding something to talk about! The only problem will be getting a word in edgeways between the other High D, High I meetupers!
We're planning the next one for the beginning of September and we'd love to see you there.

Wendi and John,
Thank you for the welcome. Apologies for the lack of activity here, things seem to get in the way all the time. I guess I need to keep listening to the priority management podcasts ;)
