Listened to recent podcast on delegation with interest and some useful info as always.  In my organisation the managerial team are maxed out meaning further delegation opportunities to other managers are quite limited.  The team working under the managers are busy with the delivery of service, BAU and projects but not at 100%.

In this scenario would people advise to consider some delegation to the non management directs (quite a few of whom have the competence to undertake management activity) and therefore possibly come up short on delivery?

Are you claiming that if one manager goes on vacation, something will suffer?  That there is absolutely no slack whatsoever?

Have you listened to the "Juggling Koan" podcast?

Not yet but I will look that one out!  There is no slack I am afraid - if anything we are in the position of choosing what not to do even when we are at 100% of people in office - not ideal I know!!!

Did the Koan Juggling spur any thoughts?

(flip side of that question:  what are your priorities?)
