The newsletter topic of Active vs Passive voice really hit me.
"The charts are not complete." vs "We did not complete the charts."
I hear passive more than active. One's tendency is to stick with the pattern in use. Often, however, it is prompted by a passive question. We need to also ask our questions actively - defining the voice of the response.
"Are the charts compete?" vs "Have you completed the charts?"
We can push toward the active voice from both sides of the question.
I agree, we can push at it from both sides. And, it seems to me that everyone is ALWAYS talking in the passive voice (including me, frankly, sometimes).
Sorry this took so long!
