I was contacted a couple of weeks ago about a job opportunity from a local recruiting company. At first it sounded like a good opportunity, but yesterday after my initial interview I find myself no longer interested in the position.
First the position would be step back in my career. I would essentially be doing the same position I was in 4 years ago and it would be with a much smaller company.
I've been asked to comeback for a second interview, but I don't want to waste anyone's time when I'm 90% sure this is not the position for me.
I'm looking for some advice on the best way to handle turning down a second interview. I do not want to burn the recruiter, as I would like to continue working with them in the future. I also do not want upset the person that interviewed me, as I'm sure we will cross paths again. Any thoughts?
