Are the best leaders also cheerleaders?
I find my mood is more contagious the higher I am in an organization.
If I behave more positive, energized, and interactive - does it make me a better leader?
Perhaps it is necessary, but not sufficient. Or perhaps it is a contributing factor on a spectrum of quality leadership?

Cheerleading makes you more effective at convincing certain members of your team to align with your ideas (won't work with the high Cs though). But to be a good leader, I think you have to also be capable of cool, objective assessments of the situation and develop strategies from there. You have to anticipate what can go wrong, and actively seek out credible viewpoints that differ from your optimistic one. Once you've formulated your strategy, then by all means bring people on board with your enthusiasm for it.
