We have a new boss and between myself and my boss we decided that one of my directs would be reassigned to another team. Any tips on how to communicate this to a direct?

She has great performance reviews and I believe enjoys being on our team and feels well supported. I'm afraid she might misinterpret the reassignment as based on having let me down. But the truth is her role description is a mismatch for my department and it's a better fit for another department (my peer who supervises the other department is in agreement).

I'd love a "script" for communicating the reassignment or any other tips you have for handing this.
