Hi Everyone,

What additional techniques, information, and help can you provide to help me with my 'Bad Attitude'?

I have listened to all of the podcasts twice, and they are awesome! Today was the day when a colleague subtly mentioned my non-positive attitude. This was a trigger for me to ask the forum for guidance with my High D&C DISC profile that mentions (correctly) that my behaviour can easily be seen as a bad attitude.

LOL, I have made most of the behavioural mistakes that Mike mentions in the podcasts, and have been getting better over the last year-or-so. With the comment from my colleague, there is some obvious room for improvement :) As Mark mentions, how can I change my behaviour to take it to the next level? I am too far away to make it to the Manager Tools Conference, and am now an employee and am no longer a manager (by my choice).

Do you have any helpful tools that I can purchase to help with my behaviour - Thanks :)

Edit: Fixed spelling mistakes

Dude - Keep listening to the M-T Podcasts... take notes.

Remember it is not about Altitude -- it is about behavior

The first step is to monitor your own behavior.

Yes, you can fake it until you make it.  You don't have to feel it to behave like it.

In time new habits might form and you might actually feel it.

Congrats on being elightened enough to call yourself out!

My advice would be to spend some time studying and practicing DISC.   The MT effective communications conference is a great jump start to this however it does take practice to become habit.   By becoming hyper aware of how you are communicating and tweaking the delivery depending on who you are talking to, you will be less apt to ineffective statements and comments.

Another trick is start taking notes on your own behavior.   Think of it as the golf pro pausing after his shot to get that immediate self feedback.  Keep a notebook and a pen with you and write down what you percieve to be 'good' and 'bad' attitutude behaviors.   Review them at the end of each day for a few minutes.   Schedule this time on  your calendar to help build the habit.

Good luck!
