FYI, I gave my boss a gift card to a local upscale restaurant for Boss' Day (Oct 16 here in the US). He expressed his thanks and then suggested that my wife and I (we work for the same company) join him and his wife for dinner at the restaurant. I was pleasantly surprised. I'm glad we get to improve our working relationship by doing something nice together outside the office.
One kind thing.
The ironic thing is, I would not have gotten the card if it were not for my Service Desk Mentor missing our appointment at that restaurant last night.
