Communication can always improve between managers and direct reports. Has anyone used daily or weekly blog post as a way to uniformly communicate key points in addition to a weekly one on one?

Remember: communication is about what the listener does.
Would this be a more effective way to reach your directs? Do your directs enjoy or are they inclined to read blogs? Might this be an additional burden for them (Ex. one more thing I have to go check & if I don't then I missed something)? Another thought: Horstman's law of communciation: over-communicate and your half way there. To me, this means to listen more, not necessarily to yak more.
Hope that helps. Take what you like and leave the rest. If you do try it out, I'd be interested in you keeping us posted on the results.
