Hi MT forum folks,

I am currently looking for the next step in my career and I have found some positions of interest via web searches. I have an urge to make contact with the recruiter before sending my CV via the web since only sending the CV seems a bit "dry" in terms of interaction.

Does anyone have any advice on if this is a good idea or what kind of questions I should ask that would impress the recruiter?

If you can get a referral to the recruiter or have used them to hire before, then yes, absolutely. If you're going cold, then I'd recommend treating it like you would any application. Submit it with a nice cover letter and promise to follow up by phone -- then do so.
