BLUF: Can you close an initial phone interview with an internal recruiter without knowing the specific roles available?
I'm interviewing with a company that is starting a new division. I understand that there is a leader but little else in the way of defined roles or job descriptions. We're going to talk about what they are thinking for their new division and of course my accomplishments and history.
1) Do I close?
2) Given that I know almost nothing about the specific role available, how do I close?

Sure, why not.
Of course, you won't want to necessarily express your desire for an offer as much as to have the opportunity to interview for future positions based on the mission of the new division, the growth potential, and the cultural fit.
