Hello,

When  you work for a small company that is not widely known, do you include a line in your resume with a brief "company profile" to provide some information concerning the nature of the job?

For example:

COMPANY X

Company profile: construction projects, specialized in underground pipeline networks.

Mechanical Engineer,

Accomplishments here...

Company information is often known, and can be found easily on the web if not.

Your responsibilities and accomplishments are the focus of the resume.

Depending on your role in the company, some of the information will be included in the responsibilities paragraph. For example:

Responsible for mechanical engineering safety of up to 4 simultaneous 3 year underground pipeline network projects, valued up to $3M. Establish requirements, ensure projects adhere to safety standards ...

Alternatively, if you were an accountant:

Responsible for the management accounts of up to 4 simultaneous 3 year underground pipeline network projects, valued up to $3M. Create monthly statutory accounts...

It wouldnt' be wrong to put in a responsibilities paragraph,

"Responsible for the management of a 20 person sales team selling clean room electronic components for a $50MM low voltage product joint venture between..."

Or,

"Responsible for $18MM in annual sales for the US's largest private specialty ink company with the supply contract for federal currency..."

You'd only do this for the first (top) job in the company.
