I'm looking at starting O3s with my department (IT). My question is I have a team member in another state who reports to me on a dotted line basis, that is she has a manager(a non-technical Office Manager) in her plant, but for Technical questions, she comes to me, should I include her in the O3s or limit it to the true direct reports. Note that O3s with her would have to be phone based since we're in different time-zones, unless I happen to be in the other plant.
Thanks,
Bill
Dotted-Line reports
Will having O3s with her improve your relationship with her and your collective effectiveness? If so - go for it.
Dotted-Line reports
YES, without a doubt.
