A book that I have found fascinating (athough a tough read at times) is "Flow - The Psychology of Optimal Experience" by Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. I'd like to hear if any others have read this book and what their thoughts are. It's not strictly a management book but I found it to be very stimulating when relating the concepts to the workplace.

In the book he says "It is true that if one finds flow in work, and in relations with other people, one is well on the way toward improving the quality of life as a whole".

This book really spurred me on to try and make a difference to my workplace and the people who work for me. There is just so much enjoyment everyone should be getting from their work - it doesn't have to be doom and gloom!

Stuart-

I've read it, and loved it, as I did his other books. I agree it's a little metaphysical at times, but that's a good thing at times.
