I am scheduled for a phone interview with a hiring manager located in Europe, while I am located in the US. I know the MT recommendation for follow up is to send a handwritten Thank You note immediately following the interview. I am concerned that it will take too long for the snail mail to get to the interviewer. Should I still send the handwritten note, or follow up with email first, or do both - send the note that day, and the day following the interview send a Thank You via email? Any suggestions highly appreciated.
I'd do both. Sending a note
I'd do both. Sending a note will be there late, but it may not be there "too late". Sometimes decisions get delayed. Sometimes a candidate pulls out. Sometimes there's another position within the same company.
Yep. Handwritten
I'm with gerhorn on this one. Follow-up with a handwritten note.
