BLUF: How do a prepare well with a meeting with more senior people that I want to impress. Success in this might mean major investments in my project later on.

Tommorow night, from 5 pm to 7 pm, I'll head to a party  by "Technology Start-up Competition" of my region. The guests are "investors, judges, tomorrows business leaders(I guess that's where I fit) and all the business community".

Wanting to do a great impression, and maybe find "financial partners", I want to prepare the best I can.

I know my project well, but if I go there to pitch it, I'm pretty sure that I won't make the adequate impression. I recently re-listened to "How to become part of a group" , "Good handshake" and "How to make a conversation" podcasts.

Now, what I need help with is advice from the MT Community. The "to do" 's and the "don't" 's of those events. Also the "keep in mind" 's.

As you can see, I'm am un-experienced in those events, and your counsil will be extremly valuable.

In hope of becoming a member that can give great advice back to the community in the near future, thanks you very much.

The MT advice from how to attend a holiday party cast is a close fit:

http://www.manager-tools.com/2006/10/time-to-party

It is a great cast with sound advice including:

- Eat before you go

- ONE DRINK ONLY (if you drink)

- Dress UP not down

- Review your resume in advance

- Be up to date on current events
