All,

My wife (aka the manager of our household, which includes two kids) LOVES MT, and she (and I) would love to hear if/how you've applied some of the excellent MT practices in your own home/family...successfully or unsuccessfully.

Another question is whether you know of any other casts out there that are similar to MT in format and quality but deal with personal management issues, i.e. home management, time management, errand management, activity management, etc.

Thanks!

Pandkreader,

David Allen has some great free podcasts available on his website and in iTunes all about task management:  http://www.davidco.com/podcast.php  Listening to these will give you a very good sense of how to tackle the issues you mentioned above.

Thanks,

-Adam

I'll have to check out those GTD-related podcasts - Thanks, Adam.  In response to the original post, if you haven't picked up a copy of Getting Things Done, I would highly recommend it.  It's an easily accessible book with a system that makes a lot of sense and can help significantly improve the organization of any home or work environment.  My office is much more organized as a result, and I no longer worry about those nagging to-do's when something crosses my mind.

Best of luck,

Mike

1st and great the use of "and" ipo "but" in many occasions, it works.

2nd about Disc: reducing the gap in communicating with your spouse.

3rd with kids: use of systemic feedback positive and negative to encourage effective behaviour.

Else not from MT: understanding man and women difference by emotional intelligence (Daniel Goleman).

So long.

Joe.

I personally found the FlyLady great.  Not the best designed site out there, but great at organizing you home and family.

The topic of MT applied to one's home and family life was discussed a couple years ago (with Mark joining the conversation).

Read this thread before giving your spouse some "feedback."

Adam, Mike, Joe, Sue, John,

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond. We really are grateful for your insights and will, in true MT fashion, get right to application.

Other comments/thoughts are still welcome, of course.
