So, I'm ready to make an offer and plan to do that myself, but HR holds the keys as far as the salary goes. I know the base for the position and have asked HR what their recommendation for the specific candidate is. Hopefully they'll provide that to me. But if not, what suggestions do you MTers have for how I approach this?

I considered telling HR they could get on the offer call with me, so between HR and me, we'll be ready with all the details. Open to ideas here.
