Well just thought I would share. I have been trolling around manager-tools for a couple of months and I recently purchased the Career tools license with the Interview Series and it has really opened my eye on how to effectively prepare for an interview.
I am interviewing for a job with a Fortune 100 and I have interview with the recruiter (and I closed) and I had my first phone interview with the company today and I closed again! I will hear by Friday if I am in line for the next interview.
I practiced my introduction, significant accomplishments and close multiple times and even timed them and recorded them. I will admit I was concerned that the "close" would come off as brash but I just did it anyway.
As the interview was wrapping up the the interviewer told me I do a very good interview, I present myself well and my examples were very clear and painted a picture.
I followed up with a thank you email and I closed again (No, I didn't snail mail it)
I want an offer,
Chris
Good on ya :)
Well done Chris,
It can be hard to do, but as a hiring manager I love it when people do. Dont forget to follow up with them, and send thank you notes... Set yourself apart just that little bit more
Cheers
Stephen
