Everywhere, it seems uses the terms industry and sectors and I have never quite got to grips with these two. Until now maybe. With something called The global industry classification standard (GICS). I have been looking at what it lists--(https://www.msci.com/gics) as the different sectors, industry groups and industries.
Can anyone tell me if this is the most reasonable/reliable definition/classification that is used by European businesses or are there others?
