OK, I think I know the answer to this question, but......

I posted my resume on CareerBuilder.com yesterday. I am an MBA grad looking for adjunct faculty positions, but last night received 2 emails for "interview requests" from insurance companies (Tri State Financial and Inosphere). These......aren't.....REAL.....are they?

Although I have no interest in insurance sales, am I required to follow up? The emails are from the "area recruiter," which, if this is a person that lives in my area, I don't want to offend. Any advice?

Thanks in advance!

I've received them too.  Of course they're real.  There are actually human beings that sent those emails.

Why not provide a simple, polite, and professional response to them?   It will take you no more than 30 seconds to thank them for their interest and let them know your career goals lie elsewhere.

 Good luck!
