So I have loaded the majority of my contacts into a list in Reminders on a Mac and I am not going through at least three keep in touch's a day. My question is, what do people do and what do they prefer; a short note via LinkedIn or a short note via email?

I have used LinkedIn for the messaging since it is pretty obvious how I got their contact information and it seems less intrusive. Also, it benefits me by keeping the communication out of my primary personal email inbox.

What are other people's opinions on this and what have they found succesful?

] a short note via LinkedIn or a short note via email?

Take the time to send an email message rather than a quick note via LinkedIn. It saves time for the recipient and it is more convenient for them. Yes, this means *you* may have to copy/paste or go through an extra few clicks. Remember, sending a note to someone creates a small obligation. Your message is more effective as the recipient does not have to change their "routine" to read and respond.

Although E-Mail si the traditional way to communicate, i know some people prefer Facebook and one of my friends prefers twitter. E-Mail may allow you to manage your contact with someone, but the best advice i can think of is ask the other person. It may of course depend on how wlel you know them. I am happy to communicate with any of my friends using and medium whether Twitter, facebook, Likedin or E-Mail .
With one ex -colleague , i found he rhusband used to send out e-mail on subject he found important, regardless of what the recipient thought , so there ae pitfalls with E-Mail.
