MeeTimer is an extension for the Firefox web browser that measures how much time one uses in web activities.

One can use this as a tool for priority management and for curbing online procrastination. More specifically in "Know Thy Time" (web-wise) measurement activities, which refers to a chapter from Peter Drucker's The Effective Executive and is talked about in Manager Tools' Time Management casts.

AManagerTool, I missed out on this inside joke :?. Care to elaborate?

Thanks ;).

Funny you should start this thread - I've been using a similar tool the last few days and it tracks everything on your computer, not just web time.

Really, really cool app. I found it via some videocast interview with the developer and decided to give it a go since I know I spend a little too much time on "stuff" but don't have a good way to identify just what that "stuff" is.

It was a typo. I wanted to lecture you about the evils of spamming your wares on our forums and had the FireFox vs. IE discussion boards open at the same time. I guess I gotta go over there and tell them that Firefox isn't trying to spam their boards....Oh my shame!

And Tool, a link to a free download which is designed to address something of interest to many in the MT community (and in which post is a reference to a specific podcast) is not spam. It's a useful link.

Let's not throw out the babies with the spamwater.

You are correct John....as usual.

I didn't see the joined date of Palhoto who has been with us since 2006. I only looked at his postcount, saw a link and said SPAMMER! Sometimes that shoot ready aim thing backfires on me.

Palhoto, I apologize.

I am on a crusade to eliminate spam. I consider this board to be part of my beat. It's quite sad really...please forgive me.

Here is my badge

Take your badge and you gun back. And get back to work. The community needs you.

And...HEY: Let's be careful out there.

Misstenacity, thanks for the reference, looks really good, I'll be checking it out.

AManagerTool, you're forgiven with more than justified reason. I should have put some more info on the signature or I should have found out how to recover my previous forum registration login Pe... that already had a few posts. The Palhoto login is from the free member registration (which appears to be unified with the forums). I am currently the one who apologizes to the community for my confusion inducing behavior .

Anyway, I am in no way affiliated with MeeTimer or Firefox. I found about the tool recently, the relevance to MT and The Effective Executive clicked. I searched the forums for MeeTimer, found no results. I just had to share a BLUFed reference of the tool :).

Take care.
