Hello,
I would ask for your advice on the career planning part in the current tendency of multinational companies spinning-off big parts of their business. As it is an action undertaken from high management for variety of reasons (cost cutting, positioning the company a bit better in the eyes of the shareholders, etc) and at the same time leads to global layoffs, low morale and diminished pool of internal opportunities for promotion. Especially if the spin-offs take place every 2 years with no definite end for now.
What do you think?
- Would you stick to the loyalty part and just deliver the best results possible, hoping HR will not call you over?
- or would you start actively looking around for a better place, hoping it will not start spinning-off businesses for the next couple of years?

Regards,

JT
