I am happily employed as a Software Engineering Manager at a Fortune 200 company. I’ve been at the company two years and enjoy my work, the people there, and our products. There are limits to growth within the company for someone with a software background, but I wouldn’t expect to hit those limits for several years if ever.
Every couple of weeks I get calls from recruiters trying to fill open positions on my team. Every once in a while I get calls or email from recruiters trying to place me. And Google keeps calling…
I’m not looking for a new job so I politely tell my callers “no thank you – I’m not looking at this time” but I feel as if I’m throwing away future opportunities. And it really kills me to keep saying “no thank you” to Google… I’d like to use this as an opportunity to grow my network while still being loyal to my company and not demonstrating any conflict of interest.
Do you have any suggestions?
