Hey everyone, so I will start on Monday a Manager position at an Academy Sports and Outdoors. I previously worked for a toy store so this environment is totally different than what I had been dealing with for the past 3 years. I want to be as prepared as possible for this role. I've worked under terrible, unorganized, non communicative management and the vibe that I am getting from my new boss is a VERY positive one. I genuinely want to be the BEST leader and I want to make an impact on peoples lives. With that said, I started researching different managing techniques and came across your "First Rule for New Managers" podcast. It was great! I've listened to several others since that one but was hoping for suggestions on ones that would be a bit more applicable to my situation. Thank you so much!

Congrats on the new role! The best place to start at MT is at the beginning. There is so much content here, fantastic stuff. The building blocks should come first. Don't let the clever names of other casts lure you in just yet!

Go to the Manager Tools Basics page and listen to One-on-One's, Feedback, Coaching, etc... Then, before you implement anything new, listen to the Rolling Out The Trinity casts. The recommendations make total sense. You've come to the right place for guidance! Best of luck.
