BLUF - How should I put my new part time job on my resume, with no accomplishments, while I'm still looking for full time employment.

Let me give you a bit of background. The company I was working for closed in May. I have found a Part time, temporary position in my field (IT) at a local college. They are very understanding that I am still looking for a full time job. I have only been working there for 3 weeks.

I know that I need to update my resume with the information for this job. Unfortunately, I haven't had any "accomplishment bullets" in the first three weeks. I have been able to explain the lack of this job on my resume so far as "I just started last week". I know that the time has come to add it but I'm worried about having an entry with no bullets.

Are there any recommended ways to handle this or is the fact that the date is July 09 enough to explain any lack of bullets?

Thanks in advance for the feedback.

It sounds like it's a transitional gig for you - so consider mentioning it ("what I'm doing now...") in your cover letter only.

I recommend updating the resume. Show continuous employment by including the MT standard Date, Title, Location, and position description.

Start documenting *any* work accomplishment in your Career Management Document (CMD) right away with your new part-time position. You will be pleasantly surprised how fast you accumulate bullet points for your resume. Armed with several small accomplishments *now* gives you the ammunition to include bullet points on the resume AND nail the interview question "Tell me about an accomplishment in your new role."

To me, an updated resume demonstrates diligence and professionalism.

I will defer to Wendii and other resume experts here in the forums--but these are my initial thoughts.
