I recently received an offer for a new role, my dream job. My new employer is asking for three current supervisory references.

My challenge is my current boss is likely going to be quite upset when I quit. I've seen him be a bit petty when other people quit including walking them out without a valid reason and bad mouthing them. Or a small satellite office? And I don't really have another supervisory reference that I can list. The corporate culture is a bit similar and I'm not confident that I would get a positive reference from my boss's boss either (not because I'm not good at my job but because I think they'll be upset that I'm leaving).

Should I
A) only provide references from a previous employer even though it was three years ago
B) provide a reference for a current peer and previous supervisors from previous company.
C) ask him to be a reference but explain my concern to my future employer.

Other?
