Required documentation for teams

Hey all, 

BLUF — what documents are essential for managing a team? I'm talking things like objectives, responsibilities, procedures, career planning etc.

I've done a lot of my management ad hoc so I'm looking to get some structure and increase my communication. Would love any pointers / guidance.
