I'm starting a new job next week to take a small engineering team that currently supports only internal customers to the tune of about 1% of a $35M corporate revenue. My charter is to build that team to create products for both internal and external customers, contributing 10% of corporate revenue in five years.
I want to go into this job with lots of energy because the company does not normally hire leaders from outside. In my case, I fill an expertise gap that currently prevents the company from pursuing its goal with this team.
I've looked through my podcast archives for episodes about onboarding as a new manager but I can't find anything. Can anyone point me to applicable episodes?
