A thread in another folder asked about Toastmasters. If you join and are an active participant, should you include that on your resume? What section, how listed? Hiring managers, are you impressed by seeing it?

As a hiring manager, I'd rather it show in the way you present yourself. Having it on the resume isn't appropriate - even if the job involves a lot of public speaking (in which case your resume should cover your speaking elsewise).

If you're young, say 5 years out if school, it could show your commitment to self-improvement.

Especially if you are an organizer.

Out it under education/ affiliations.

Drop it when you are older and struggling to get to one page.
