Upward appraisal

Hi to everybody,

I'm re-reading a book on management I bought 10years ago. I've decide to re-read the book because there are interesting thing that I would like to refresh in my mind.

I come across to something it was in my brain's basement and it is "Upward Appraisal". It something I've read it fast in the past and did not pay too much attention. Now I realize that "Upward Appraisal" is something everybody does everyday and it is something done underground.

Since the book I'm reading dedicate a very short paragraph to this subject, I would like to know if there are some more sources (books, podcast etc..) I can refer to for a more comprehensive knowledge on this fascinating subject.
