What dangers exist if I choose to flatten my organization by one level?
My Department has 54. I have 6 directs and 31 skips. Three of my skips have another 16 directs. I am considering rearranging to eliminate a layer of supervision. It would be done using a combination of 1) reassignment and 2) "semi-promotion," and 3) one person would lose supervisory responsibility.
Any hidden dangers?
