First, I will say thank you for loving what you do, it shows in the quality of your products. I have been listening to Manager Tools for 4 years now, and this last year started listening to Career Tools. I've been a commissioned officer in the Army Reserve since 2009, and an underpaid Army civilian since 2010, with the promise of pay freezes and furloughs through the rest of the year. At the end of a month-long training rotation at Fort Leavenworth, KS, instead of taking my day off, I bought the Resume Workbook and completely re-wrote my resume. It was still a work-in-progress, because I had not narrowed down my accomplishments to one-liners, but I spotted a ProjectManager/System Administrator position that fit so well with my skill set I had to jump on it. I had an email response the same day, and an in-person interview with the recruiter of the staffing agency the following Tuesday. One week after the recruiter interview, I had an on-site interview with with 6 different people across five 30-minute sessions at the potential client. Immediately following a holiday weekend I was offered the position at $60,000, which is an 80% pay raise over my current salary of $33,000. I know I would not have had the same level of success without the guidance available in the podcasts, and most notably, the new resume; I cannot thank you enough, it was easily the best $30 I've ever spent.
