The Power of Understanding In Relationships - Part 1

Part 1 of our guidance on what to do when we don't understand in relationships.

The phrase "seek first to understand" is one of Stephen Covey's Habits in the book "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. But it comes to us from St. Francis of Assisi and many others throughout history because it's fundamental to humanity. If we do not seek first to understand in our relationships we struggle to have relationships at all. This sounds like the beginning of a homily, rather than career advice, but the not so secret secret about organizations is that they are full of people and those people are much like the people we have relationships with at home. Therefore, seek first to understand is still helpful, useful, and necessary advice for success.
