In our company, we always interview in pairs. Later this week I will interview a candidate with another interviewer. I've listened to the cast on "Favorite Candidate Interview Preparation" but it speaks of the next steps.
I am faced with a slightly different problem - the candidate's CV appears perfect for a for the IT department, but my team really needs a person with the same skills.
The second interviewer is the IT department manager, of course.
How can I get to hire this candidate instead of the IT manager (assuming the candidate passes all interviews well)?
