Hi All,
I found a fun way to personalize the poker-chips-in-the-pocket feedback technique. I recently visited Capital Hill in D.C., and in the gift shop they sell replica colonial era state coins. I always wear pants with pockets, but as a woman I have to avoid the bulk of the poker chips. I love the feel of these worn down brass coins, they are slim but still feel solid.
I'm a history buff so these work for me, but I'm sure others have found their own variation on the poker chip. I don't have directs, but am essentially a project manager, working with cross-functional teams all day, and having strong relationships with people all over the company is critical to my success. This is a great technique for keeping track of how often I express gratitude or give positive feedback for behavior that I want to encourage.
Cheers,
Jeanne
Another poker ship variant
Very classy Jeanne.
I currently have a pocket full of buttons, they can be silent (if plastic) and come in very small sizes for small pockets.

Yet another poker tip variant
Hi Jeanne, Hi Marinna,
I used a set of seven narrow silver rings (I can't remember where I bought them, somewhere in South America). I used them in one finger on my left hand, and every time I gave a feedback moved them to the right hand, until I got them all in the RIGHT hand and move them back again.
I am not working now so I have no directs.... Oh I miss my rings....
