It is a general practice for managers to ask for feedback just before annual review - even if the employee provides a list of partners they worked with during the whole year, I think partners forget the details and the enthusiasm is lost as time passes.

I was wondering if there was any podcast or guidance about how to request for feedback, and particularly how to request partner to pass on the feedback to my manager?

thank you,

Personally I would not ask a partner to pass feedback to my manager. If they do it themselves then great but asking seems a a bit too self-serving.

However if someone gives you some praise 'offline' there is no harm asking if they could send you that feedback in an email. Keep this stored somewhere and bring it out for your reviews.

Benefit here is that you get the feedback as it happens, not at the end of the year when the partner has forgotten the details.

Hope this helps. Jonno.
